Ellen A. Honeycut
Vice President of Finance and Controller
Ellen A. Honeycutt is the liaison for all financial matters between the Owners or Board of Directors and the operations of each property. This includes monitoring the cash flow and payables, reviewing the monthly financial statements and annual audits as well as mentoring the accounting staff.
Ms. Honeycutt is the former Corporate Controller for Triumph Housing Management. Under her leadership, she grew the accounting team to over 10 employees and provided accounting services for close to 95 properties or 10,000 units; most of which were subsidized properties. In this position, she developed procedures and checklists for monthly and year-end financial statement preparation. She also developed procedures to prepare the preliminary budgets for Operations to finalize. As Controller, she ensured that the accounting staff was productive by getting answers to outstanding questions or for software issues. She participated in monthly calls with owners and/or asset managers and supervised biweekly payroll for 300 employees throughout the portfolio.
Prior to Triumph Housing Management, Ms. Honeycutt spent over 25 years of her career working for a local CPA firm that serviced small businesses and individuals. She started as a staff accountant, became a CPA, and then progressed into a partner of the firm.
After leaving the CPA firm, Ms. Honeycutt worked in a Family Office for high net worth individuals as a Tax Manager.
Ms. Honeycutt graduated with honors from the Georgia Institute of Technology with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Mathematics.
